An overview of Affective Computing from the Physiology and Biomedical Perspective, Semantic Multimedia Analysis and Processing. In: 2014.
Abstract
During the last years, the field that deals with identification, recording, interpreting, processing and simulation of emotion and affective state has won ground in the scientific community. It is a fact that many scientists are preoccupied with the domain called affective computing. In this chapter, we review the state of the art methodologies tools and systems from the biomedical perspective focusing on the collection and processing of biological signals. The chapter discusses the architecture of such systems, the acquisition and processing of biosignals and the main methodologies used for emotion extraction. Finally, the chapter reports the statistics and results of the most important methodologies and systems found in literature.
