Georgia Angelaki

Georgia Angelaki is currently pursuing her PhD in the Department of Cultural Technology and Communication at Aegean University, specializing in Knowledge Representation. Her doctoral research is titled “Knowledge Representation and Documentation of Intangible Cultural Heritage.” Prior to this, she attained a European Leonardo Master’s Degree in “Interactive Multimedia in Business Projects” from the ICHEC Brussels Management School, and a graduate degree from the Media and Communication Department of Panteion University in Athens, focusing on Cultural Management.

Since 2012, Georgia has been employed at the National Documentation Center in Greece, where she plays a pivotal role in network development for SearchCulture.gr, the National Cultural Data Aggregator. From 2015 to 2018, she spearheaded the development of new digital infrastructure and services for the National Library of Greece during its transition to the Stavros Niarchos Cultural Foundation. Prior to her current role, she dedicated six years to Europeana, the European cultural heritage platform, where she directed various European digital aggregation projects funded under ICT-PSP calls.

With extensive experience in digital heritage management, Georgia is recognized as a senior practitioner in her field. Her work involves managing large-scale national and European digital heritage projects, collaborating closely with numerous cultural heritage institutions across Greece and Europe.
